A word with… Caroline Cage

Interviews & Questionnaires

I’m one of your UWE blog correspondents, Adam, and I’ve conducted interviews with reigning Champions Amy Gobraless and The Armenian Beast in the past. More recently, I got an exclusive word with Caroline Cage. The General Manager decided to share a few words in a brief game of word association.

Champion
Gurgen – The Armenian Beast, he is at the top of the UWE brand and subsequently must be honored as the champion the others aspire to be.

Faction
Morsmordre – With Asylum, Sorrow and Cthuhlu this faction has proven to be deadly.

Vacation
Needed – I could use a vacation. Ronnie and I have paid visits to some of the locales during the tours, but it’s mostly for work and business.

Music
Love – I absolutely love music of all kinds. I have radio stations playing constantly. Everything from Indie to top 40.

Video Games
Boys – Your GM doesn’t play Xbox One or PS4. I will play Wii from time to time, but not as of late.

Women’s wrestling
Fan – I’m a fan of the sport and if it involves the ladies they got my support.

Children
Caroline laughs

Tour
Japan – That comes to mind because the board room has been talking about it. There have been other destinations discussed, but they’re all ideas at this point.

That’s all for now. Next time I will try to get a tag team like Angels and Demons, Special Forces or The Rhett Vipers. Could you imagine a double word association? I’m interested so that I can compare and contrast.

UWE Insider: Hot Topics #6

Hot Topics

Welcome to hot topics. I’m Gwendy and I’m going to do a bit of a preview of the upcoming show. I will also make predictions and offer insight.

Asylum versus the Armenian Beast has been announced for the next show. Asylum is a menance and psychopath. The Armenian Beast is a jolly lug, but remember that he’s called the Beast for a reason. The fans are sure to get their monies worth whenever these two show up. It’s nearly impossible to predict a winner.

Beat the clock is a stipulation that will appear soon. Who can win his or her match in the fastest time? Whoever can achieve this feat in Stalingrad during the Battleground tour will get a World title shot as he or she becomes the World title number one contender. The Armenian Beast has been a successful champion thus far.

I am keeping my eye on the agile high flying wrestlers. A lot of the wrestlers are well versed in aerial wrestling holds and moves, you know, so I’m rooting for them. I’m all about the women, so come on ladies.

Did you check out my interview with Chett Rosenthal? It was a good interview. Short, but sweet. Chett is a darling and a sweetheart. I would love to have another word with him. If you didn’t see it, please check out the interview on the UWE blog under the Hot Topics category under Topics on the sidebar.

Rumor has it that Demoana and Serah Feena have it out for each other. Demoana came out and stared at Serah during her match with Ruby. In my opinion, it was a distraction that cost Ruby and it was all on Demoana. That’s just my opinion. Demoana and Serah, allegedly, have backstage tension between each other. It will either end up one of two ways: it will explode or simply boil over and fizzle out.

Lily and Chaos. What is happening there? I haven’t heard much, but we’ll see what happens between these two. You all know I love to pry but there’s nothing to uncover yet. When I know something about Ms. Jackson and Chaos you’ll know.

Tyler Reeves is a new guy on the scene. He impressed me and I think he should have beat Asylum. Tyler is here to slay the top stars of UWE. I think he can do it, but starting with Asylum will take a few tries to get the job done. Who will Tyler target next? Well, there’s a lot of potential people for The Icon to go after. I speculate he will continue to go after Asylum. Reeves probably has his eyes on a few guys like Jenson, Chaos and Brandon Sorrow. Of course there’s the champion, but he’s going to make examples out of some of UWE’s stars.

Thank you for reading. Always dishing, Gwendy.

Power Rankings Post-Ypres Edition

Power Rankings

1. Morsmordre (N/A) – The faction of Morsmordre hangs onto the number one spot thanks to Asylum. Asylum took on Tyler Reeves in a singles contest. The match was quite the spectacle for those who witnessed the Ypres contests. Asylum has recently been named the contender for the World title and theres a reason for that.

2. The Armenian Beast (N/A) – The Beast remains at the second spot, but could be in danger of falling down. Asylum and The Armenian Beast are set to compete in a World title match in the near future against a potential third number one contender. With that said, Beast has just as much of a chance of reclaiming the number one spot with a win or a successful title defense.

3. The Rhett Vipers (N/A) – Ruby suffers from a loss against Serah just last week, but the pair rides on the victories of Jenson Rhett. The tag team could potentially fall back or rise up, depending on how the beat the clock matches go.

4. Angels and Demons (6) – Lily’s victory over Natasha helps to bring the duo of Angels and Demons up two spots on the power rankings. Angels and Demons don’t always appear as a unit, but they are mainstays on the roster. That is the reason why they rise up to spot number four.

5. Amy Gobraless (4) – The Rising Star Champion falls back due to some inactivity. However, she remains in the top five of the rankings. Amy will either rise up or fall out of the top five if she can’t pull off a third title defense. If Amy can defend her title for a third time she will rise up quick. Even just an appearance or a win could put the Rising Star into the top three where she once was.

6. Tyler Reeves (7) – Although Tyler Reeves lost against Asylum in last weeks main event, he continues to etch his name in the history books of UWE. Reeves proves to be a tough competitor and a viable candidate to compete for number one contenderships. “The Icon” has a lot to prove, but moves up one spot as the rankings change.

7. Special Forces (5) – The rankings have shifted a bit. The Special Forces fall back two spots due to recent inactivity. However, the Special Forces should not be taken lightly and Payne and Punishment can easily rise and fluctuate in their position.

8. Chaos (9) – Chaos bumps up one spot after a win against Brandon Sorrow. Chaos will have to pull off further wins in order to move along the power rankings, just like everybody else.

9. Serah Feena (10) – Serah Feena moves up one spot from the last position after a win against Ruby. For now she holds onto at number nine.

10. Bob The Badguy (8) – The Badguy edges out the rankings in the ten spot due to a loss in his last appearance and then some inactivity. We don’t blame Bob for the circumstances, but that is just how the power rankings work.

UWE Hot Topics Interview: Chett Rosenthal

Hot Topics

Gwendy here with another hot topics interview.

Gwendy

This week I have a word with Chett Rosenthal; the owner of the company. It took me awhile to lock this interview, but I got it. The Hot Topics interviews are successful, so next I’m going to try and have a word with Lara Pegorino from the Sports Entertainment Network. How you doing Lara? But first, check out my interview with Chett himself.

How you doing Chett Rosenthal?

I’m well thanks, how are you Gwendy?

I’m well. I’d like to ask you a few quick questions surrounding your company the UWE. What made you want to bring the UWE back to television?

It was a collective business decision. I am the majority shareholder, but there are other shareholders that exist as minority holders. The company has stakes and the UWE has a lot of room to grow as a company. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to revive a company I’m passionate about. I had help from people that helped build this company. Experts, if you will. For example, businesswoman Lara Pegorino had a platform to re-launch the UWE.

Now, who are these other share holders, can you spill?

The company is ran by the board of directors. The board has agreed to protect the identity of the minority shareholder at this time as they are a third party group that wishes to remain behind the board. I will say that the minority shareholder, or shareholders, sit on the board.

Who made the decision to appoint Caroline Cage as General Manager?

The board made the decision as a collective. It was a unanimous vote and Caroline was more than happy to step into that position. Of course there were others that had been in the position before, so there was alternative interest. That was a major factor into the decision process, but ultimately Caroline was most suitable for the job.

I’ve been saying for a bit now that UWE could do well with new titles. What do you think?

Gwendy, I couldn’t agree more. The UWE has been heading in a new direction. The current direction UWE is heading in is different, but not entirely different than the direction that was taken in the past. The introduction of unique divisions would be beneficial to the UWE. At one point [UWE] had multiple titles, but the roster was bulkier then. Presently, there is groundwork being laid for the future and the fans will just have to remain patient.

Chett, you scout some amazing talent. For example, the Rhett Vipers came from the indies. How do you do it?

*Chett laughs* Gwendy I don’t do it by myself, but thank you. UWE scouts only the best talent.

UWE has foundations in Toronto as a Canadian wrestling promotion. The promotion tours various regions, so the company can be classified as global. Where did the decision to implement regional tours come from?

That decision was made by the board of directors. There is a wonderful group of people that run the company. They do a lot behind the scenes to keep things afloat and that decision was there’s alone. I merely agreed with the majority.

One last question, any favorite wrestlers in the UWE?

I admire every wrestler on the roster. The UWE only scouts the top and prime talent from around the world.

Thank you Chett for answering a few questions. It was a pleasure speaking to you.

It was my pleasure Gwendy.

UWE Power Rankings(Post-Gallipoli Edition)

Power Rankings

1. Morsmordre (3) – It’s been a mixed week for Morsmordre, but Asylum’s incredible display against Bob the Badguy warrants the number one spot. While Brandon wasn’t victorious, this group has shown time and time again that they’re the gold standard in UWE, and so far no one has been able to take them down a peg. But if they want to hold on to this number one spot, they better keep delivering the goods!

2. The Armenian Beast (1) – For the first time in a long while, The Armenian Beast is knocked off his throne in the Power Rankings. Sorry, Beastie, but that’s what happens if you don’t show up! Not that it’s your fault, but the world keeps on turning with or without you. He’s still the champion, but he’ll have to come back soon (and win) or risk dropping even further down the rankings.

3. The Rhett Vipers (4) – Jenson and Ruby bust into the top three after a great display against Chaos by the Michigan Dragon. Both Chaos and Jenson are undefeated in single’s and tag team competition, so no one can argue that this number 3 spot is not what they deserve. Ruby will face Serah Feena next week, and if she can keep their near perfect record clean, they might find themselves even higher next week!

4. Amy Gobraless (2) – No podium for Miss Gobraless this week, as she gets the same treatment The Armenian Beast got. If you want to hag onto your spot, you’ll have to show up and compete; because remember, there’s always someone out there who’s hungrier than you are and who’s looking to dethrone you. But don’t worry, Amy, once you get back in the thick of it, you’ll get back ito the top three in no time.

5. Special Forces (5) – A mixed week for the Special Forces. Major Payne lost to Tyler Reeves, but Corporal Punishment picked up an astonishing win over Brandon Sorrow. +1-1 equals zero, and that’s why they neither lose or gain a spot.

6. Angels & Demons (7) – Lily and Billsta defeated the team of Craven and Natasha, and therefore they go up in the rankings! They might be even higher, had the single’s record of both members been a little bit better. But still, their rise is slow, but steady.

7. Tyler Reeves (N/A) – Talk about making an entrance! “The Icon” Tyler Reeves is out to make a name for himself and he did just that. He busts into the Power Rankings like a wrecking ball, and now it’s up to the others to stop him. The question is: can they?

8. Bob the Badguy (6) – Badluck for the Badguy. After coming up short against Asylum, he goes from 6 to 8. Everyone can have a Badday, but if you’re a Badass like Bob, you’ll be back in business in a blitz!

9. Chaos (8) – The Canadian Psycho slides a bit further downafter his loss to Jenson Rhett. He needs a big win, fast, or he might not make this list in the weeks to come! He can take Morsmordre, numbers one on this list, down a peg by defeating Brandon Sorrow. If he does, that, expect to see him skyrocket his way up the Rankings.

10. Serah Feena (9) – A no contest for Miss Feena isn’t enough to go up in the list. Like Chaos, she could do with a big win and, like Chaos, she could do just that this week when she faces Ruby. Don’t get disheartened, Serah, we all love you very much, and we know it’s only a matter of time before your true potential shines!
