FROM BRAND SPLITS TO RETRIBUTION

News & Rumors

2006 marked a time when the UWE e-fed had enough roster members to create two separate shows. The general managers in the definitive brand split were the kayfabe characters “Dirty” Drew Reynolds and Dez Taylor* (names have been retconned as of 2025).

The storyline went as follows… The UWE shows (formerly Friday Night Fear and Monday Night Mayhem!) came to fruition in early 2006 via announcement of a brand extension and a move from one show per week to two shows per week. AFTER HOURS debuted in January of ’06 before ECW on Sci-Fi (we were aiming and going for less Sci and more Fi without Kelly Kelly’s expose and sadly no Balls Mahoney).

Soon after the brand split and brand extension a live draft commenced. Members of the UWE community were welcome in a live group chat and Drew and Nate made picks in front of everyone. It was exciting! Well, it was exciting for Nate (me – the author of this story blog) because we kicked everyone from the group chat then I pondered… Did they really exclude me? So, we added everyone back and proceeded to do the draft picks where some out of character banter and deals were made in real time. Everyone who was an active member and contributer enjoyed it.

AFTER HOURS had “Dirty” Drew Reynolds at the helm and RAPTURE was Dez Taylor’s stomping grounds. Drew was a grunge era punk-rock-rap music fan who was essentially the loveable hobo that early 2000’s depicted as an ode to 1970’s to 1990’s punk rockers and grunge era legends like Kurt Cobain. Drew had the Vines look going for him and his gimmick was essentially he showed up in jeans, tee’s, whatever appeared to be footwear (whether or not it was his wasn’t clear) and a jacket a woman he had enjoyed a weekend or week of binge drinks and party time with had given him. Yes, this is from my memory and it made him an icon and a writer who provided great promos and hilarious interactions with roster mates and interviewers.

Dez Taylor was the retconned remnants of the late 2000’s emo writers not-so-sordid affair with portrayals of women in power as respectable, possibly misunderstood like Amy Lee’s, Gwen Stefani’s and in my mind Courtney Love (hey, I like her!). She was a fractional glimmer of Billion Dollar Princess, if you know who I am referring to, and the patriarchal figures lil’ gal and heir to his throne. But, this new rendition became a babyface under-dog in her own right, but… she was a throwback to soap opera stars and glamourous women who had to face twist and turn for her shot at being a leader.

These character arcs are important and I will explain after I dive into the rosters of the time and explain the iconic feuds we wrote eighteen years ago. What a hobby indeed.

Drew had the red show and Dez has the dark purple brand colour in lieu of dark green. RAPTURE was akin to WWE’s Smackdown! (it aired on Thursday’s until a move to Friday’s in 2006) while AFTER HOURS was the flagship show that aired live *fake cough* on Friday nights. Yes, RAPTURE was taped and aired Monday and AFTER HOURS was the live flagship show. But, the first RAPTURE is dated September 18, 2006 and the first AFTER HOURS is dated January 12. 2006. Why?

The first AFTER HOURS show was on January 12, 2006 while RAPTURE had the first showing later in the year due to the creation of the brand split. AFTER HOURS hallmarked a weekly schedule with one show and a roster of forty, yes forty, and more writers vying for a spot. There were plenty of names and characters with writers behind them hoping for championship gold and a main event spot.

Remember those WWE Diva battle royals that ended in mere minutes. Yes minutes, like 2-3 minutes… Well, Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment had a swath of those and the members weren’t too thrilled about being in opening matches because their written promos didn’t give them the creative freedom they wanted. Picture this; a show opener competitor doesn’t have the creative freedom to cut a promo later in the show like midcard and uppercard competitors do. So, it was important to get the chance to compete in the main event and booked later in the show because show openers weren’t reserved to Triple H or Paul Heyman like they were on real WWE programming of the ruthless aggression era.

September 2006 was an exciting time with the brand split and seperate rosters within a single community was meaningful. E-feds aka e-wrestling writing communities weren’t all that prosperous or long for the interwebs.

Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment began on Proboards, then switched to Invision, Zetaboards, Live then the smart phone app Tapatalk from 2004 to 2025.

Crossover shows existed for UWE and believe you me there were more supershows than you think! AFTER THE RAPTURE was chosen by my colleague and fellow writer Drew and to this day I am impressed with the branding of the shows and subsequent talent pools we each had to direct. UWE began on Proboards, then switched to Invision… then [later] the smart phone app Tapatalk [between the years 2004 to 2025].

RAPTURE’s theme song was chosen by Brandon or Danger (oop I can’t remember everything, guys…) and Brandon made us a music video intro and posted it to YouTube. Yes, in 2006. “Outta control” by Hoobastank was the theme song and it was hella good. On YouTube!

AFTER HOURS theme song was “All of my friends are dead” by Turbonegro and was selected by showrunner Drew. I still listen to both of these songs to this day, they’re catchy alternative rock tunes with punk edge. To me these songs are perfect for the vibe of the shows captured by the previous photos of the logos in this blog (generated by WordPress AI image tool, thanks WordPress.com!).

RAPTURE ROSTER AND AFTER HOURS LINE-UP

What were the rosters like for each show during the first and penulimate brand split? I did the math and with some omissions were made, because some roster members were as lame as our overuse of the figure of speech girl pants. There were 60 or so characters that belonged to 30+ active members booked over consecutive weeks.

AFTER HOURS ROSTER

Amy Starr (Diva Champion), Dante Nathaniel, David Stone, Donovan Carmichael, Henry Sydal Denson, JTX, Joker, Maddogg, Martin Adler, Melody Von Dutch, Natasha Lynx, Neveah Starr, Nikki DeVille, Rhys Jenkins, Ryan Starr (Hardcore Champion pre-24/7 rules), Skilgannon, Slade, Steel, Steve Norton, Styx, Tempest and Viper.

The roster was fleshed out with Drew Reynolds who double upped as General Manager and wrestler, ring-side announcer Danger who occasionally competed, 3 announcers and 1 ring announcer. The grand total was 28 roster members.

RAPTURE ROSTER

Brandon Sorrow (Tag team champion), Chrystie, Cthuhlu (Tag team champion and not to be mistaken for monster streaming service Hulu), Daisy, Darren Matthews, Donna Mari, Drake Hahn, Hermanni Linstrom, Jake Rifle, Jamie Lynn, Latin X Tim, Ronnie Cage (International champion), Sephiroth du Lac, The Shadow Warrior, Smoke, StoneRoc, The Deadman (Word heavyweight champion), Vicky and Warren Peace.

8 people were inactive or storyline injured (they were automatically RAPTURE purple until they returned… most defected to AFTER HOURS because they were scared of the Ministry. Or maybe the wanted to be team red). 6 people comprised the announcers and managers including Dez Taylor who was known as Ms. Manning the General Manager. All together there were 33 roster members.

**If you can remember what roster Ghostrain was on I will retcon Steel out of the universe**

Notable characters like Rikter Caine, before Chaz Penderton and the era of Se7en. sat on the RAPTURE inactive and injured list for weeks until joining the AFTER HOURS brand. Other infamous characters, who were basically talent enhancement to make other writers look good, like Chaos were apart of the RAPTURE brand.

Although the above roster lists from 2006/2007 list the titles on their respective shows the titles could switch brands. Pay-per views and supershow AFTER THE RAPTURE was the arena for cross-over booking and interbrand matches. The writers were competitve and sought retribution, redemption and further opportunity to advance in power rankings for the sake of championship gold and success. Duskey, Rikter Caine, Ryan Starr and Danger traded the World title and it was like a game of pass that dutch or hot rutabaga.

The paramount cross-over feud was The Underdogs versus the Ministry of Darkness.

The paramount cross-over feud was The Underdogs versus The Ministry of Darkness. The Underdogs belonged to and made their home show AFTER HOURS while The Ministry sat on RAPTURE. The general managers Drew and Dez were the faction leaders of the Underdogs and Ministry respectively. However, between these warring and feuding wrestling factions existed a pletora of talent in the talent pool vying for their own victories and gold.

Dante Nathaniel became the choice candidate to compete on AFTER HOURS and represent red. He became the main event talent “Dirty” Drew Reynolds aligned with after Drew and Skilgannon formed the Underdogs stable. Dante Nathaniel won the UWE World title at November 2 Remember 2006 on November 29.

…some even left the federation because of it.

Dante Nathaniel lost the title to “Dirty” Drew on Feburary 21, 2007 in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. This was Drews third World title run. Drew became distant from his stable mate and became infuriated; he used his booking powers to book himself in a title match against Dante Nathaniel.

“This caused uproar in the uWe locker room with people citing power abuse, some even left the federation because of it.” (http://ewrestling.fandom.com/wiki/Dirty_Drew).

Ryan Starr, the Straight Edge superstar, was the first to overthrow the Deadman for the World Championship. The Deadman won the title back due to a similar infuriating thirst and quest for power under the control of Paul Heyman. This was before the retconning and phasing out of real names due to copyright claim, but nobody replaced Heyman. However, at Christmassacre on December 28, 2007 David Stone won the World Heavyweight Championship putting an end to the Deadman’s title run.

The Underdogs and The Ministry of Darkness had crumbled much like the leaders of the rosters. The power and authority figure characters succumbed to storyline twists like Drew turning villain and being sidelined and Dez secretly being power hungry and a product of a male dominated sports entertainment industry. The Deadman put one through a table and the other was levelled out with their devestating piledriver attack making the Deadman good again until David Stone, former New Found Glory tag member and member of Bad Attitude with Joker, Maddogg and Caroline Cage’s southern guitar waving friend.

The end of an era.

The roster split eventually ended in 2008/2009. The end of an era. The brand split was huge for creative writing realms of professional wrestling hobby fandom.

However, the fall of some meant the rise of others as talent rose to prominent positions and eventually championship accolades. But that’s a blog for another time (you write it though).

Inspiration from PWI 500 Magazines iconic influence

News & Rumors, Power Rankings, Spotlight

Cody Rhodes graces this years PWI 500 November 2024 edition as the complete 500 showcases the wrestler who appears on multiple promotions throughout his stories career. Winning back to back Royal Rumbles (2024 and 2023), World title reigns, AEW and WWE appearances and now — Cody Rhodes graces the cover of PWI November 2024 while ranking in at #1. Newer wrestlers like Dominic Mysterio rank in at #69 and Logan Paul at #37 respectively and veterran alumni/current superstars & athletes like Randy Orton own their spot at #55 after sitting out of the PWI 500 criteria the previous year.

Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment has had power rankings. Weekly rankings of the weeks superstars. These rankings determined contenders, championship opportunities and contributed to bouts booked on weekly shows. Furthermore, UWE has it’s own hall of fame; a special occasional induction ceremony and honoruing of writers characters inducted into the hall of fame. Only the best have been inducted and only the best have etched a name for themselves. Or have they?

Arguably not all of the best or greats have ranked in weekly rankings or have joined the “pantheon of greatness” as Sash (the creator and handler of superstar Styx and the Death Trance Slayers) would put it.

UWE Wrestler Chaos aka Navid Bolton

What if UWELegacy aka Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment had a Top 20, Top 50 or a Top 100 of the greatest competitors to have ever stepped into the Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment E-Fed cirtcuit? Many and plenty have shone bright like diamonds in the rough. Just as many have gained recognition or arguaby faltered to make a splash much due to the staff and likely Nate (editor note; yours truly!) failing to sanction power rankings or that years hall of fame.

UWE diva and sensation Donna Mary who reigned the womens division from 2004 to 2006.

WWE Alumnus and athlete/legend Trish Stratus spoke this past year 2024 and reasoned “Why not induct Lilian Garcia in the hall of fame?” Her notion begs the question of rankings and hall of fame inductees stretching beyond the in-ring competitor/wrestler aspect of PWI’s 500. The notoriety and prestige of said rankings carries great weight in the world of wrestling and many superstars have their careers recognized by PWI whose judges have hall marked careers of those who may have made their splash in indy circuits. Mostly , wrestlers who dominate the rankings hail from Japan, NJPW, Shimmer, ROH, WWE, AEW, TNA and thus statistically the indy’s might not be seen as the place to garner a PWI top ranking, right? You would thinkl so, but false, the PWI rankings specifically the TOP 500 and the FEMALE TOP 250 recognize the careers of all wrestlers. My Canadian mind thinks of Nicole Matthews who ranked #32. Nicole Matthews competed in Canada’s west coast and has forged the name for herself and in my opinion PWI 500 and PWI 250 gives her additional recognition and accolades. The applause she and many who worked hard, and continue to work hard, deserve so much!

UWE valet and 2024 competitor Demoana.

We can be inspired by the hard work and talent of sports entertainment and furthermore find inspiration in the hard work of athletes.

So, what if Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment had a list that nods to the PWI 500 and pays homage to the plethora and pool of talent/writers and contributers? I leave you with that final thought! Take care.

News & Rumors

What kind of e-federation lasts for a 12 month calendar run of events let alone 20 years?

Hello and welcome to UWELegacy.ca home page! The community, as per usual, can be found in the menu bar link that says community. But heyyy, heyyy guyssss, obviously this is Nathan also known as yours truly the one and only Nate. Yes, Nate! No — not ToughEnough Winner who shall remain nameless – Nate or the first four letters of her name – Nate, but Nate who was obsessed with nobody. Except for Nidia.

Anyways, thought you guys would like that, especially those of you who remember the good ol’days of the message boards featuring activity among the roleplaying section of UWE. We had World champions, International champions, Diva champions, Tag team champions and Hardcore, X-Cruiser and renditions of pre-International titles like USA, Intercontinental and a Canadian championship that has been a staple since 2014 era. I think? If one of the members signs up and corrects me I will edit this blog.

Also, Nidia playing BIG BROTHER USA when we hosted our own version of the game using our wrestlers as players. Chaos was headed to the final 3 with Chrystie, Neveah Starr and Dirty Drew. Warren Peace was ousted and it appeared to be Chaos or Drew leaving, but I had it out for these writers I was gaming with. Yes, they were my members and user base of the e-fed, but I had my chance to vote their asses out and send them out of a pretend game we played in the fall throughout the winter, but the game stayed behind that year. The do-over saw Chaos return as a host for season 2 and a redux of the series; we popularized apples and keys in the Big Brother digital world and digital series of online games, for real, because we did it first and we did so as our characters.

Characters were just that. Characters. Extentions of ourselves. We had faced the real world and decided to turn to the internet and writing as a hobby and back in the 2000’s internet communities didn’t last. We faced barrages of spam and graphic images posted to our website — 17 year old Nate would cringe and shriek like a bitch at the images of grossness. Thank God The Bman and Danger were employed, or rather their handler/writers were, and they would have the website cleaned up before I logged on. I thanked them to the end of the digital world and back. Bman stayed loyal to the website and UWELEGACY — just read the blog below this one and check out the Over the top shows the team put together, they are fascinating.

Chaos, as host, fascinated nobody with his rendition of Big Brother UWE because that show too plundered itself into obscurity and was tossed into the “dump” or “archive” with a banner featuring Sable and Stephanie McMahon in all their beauty.

2012 was a great time to segue into a new era. Post-brand split and post-After the Rapture; After Hours and Rapture had culminated in a flurry of wrestling fandom and glory. We had endured amazing and no less than stellar programming that witnessed the rise of WWE’s the Shield and TNA’s women’s wrestling revolution (Taylor Wilde 25,000 winner anyone and her overthrow of Awesome Kong??? Not to forget mentioning Gail Kim and her amazing feuds with Kong and re-emerging in WWE as enhancement talent that walked out mid-battle royal…).

Now, it is 2024 and UWE is 20. Yes, twenty years old. And in typical Nate fashion it is 12:54 AM and the FOURTH OF JULY in America. I am a Canadian. Had I been a lil’wiser we would have posted something Great American-Bash-ish and I would have celebrated the birthday when it actually was. Yeah, I’m bad, but the birthday was back in April or sometimes celebrated it in May. OOP! But we had our lives ousside of this place, so cash me somewhere else, preferably somewhere I have spent for an enduring length of time like the real original Nate’s (2004-2005) resting place and grave, because as you all probably forgot my name is Green Bean.

Cheers and have an amazing summer! Let’s all regroup sometime for a show, shall we?

– Nate who is back from the dead (Green Bean has took his place in a shallow grave of original Nate’s debt for being charged with faking his death, kthxbyeee).

Show Opener – Single’s Match
Buster Bradley vs. Corey Sanders
Posted Image

(referee: JJ Hemphill)

The second meeting between Corey Sanders and Buster Bradley begins with the two men circling one another slowly. Sanders begins feeling out his opponent with a few feints to try and get him to drop his guard. Bradley stays on focus, however, not falling for the fake shots. Corey then fires a real punch and Buster ducks under and shuffles in and grabs Corey in an elbow and collar tie up.

Buster snaps Corey into a tight headlock and squeezes down like a vice. After struggling for a few moments Sanders twists away and pulls Bradley’s arm into a hammer lock. Ben grunts as his arm is wrenched painfully. Buster ducks under Corey’s arm and grabs him into a waist lock, pulling him tight. Buster picks Sanders up but Corey hooks a leg to keep himself from being lifted. Sanders then reverses the hold and reverses the hold, spinning to stand behind Buster.

Buster grabs hold of Corey’s arm and peels it off, lifting his arm to grab Sanders head and whipping him over with a headlock takedown. On the mat Buster resumes wrenching on Sanders head. Corey grunts and struggles, pushing back on Buster’s head to sit him back. Sanders then quickly wraps his legs around Buster’s head and puts him into a scissor lock.

Corey squeezes tightly on Buster’s neck, causing the ref to start to check Bradley’s consciousness. The arm is raised!
One drop…
Two drops…

Three dro- No!

Buster gets the arm back up and struggles to sit. As he does Corey pulls him into a modified Triangle choke and begins trying to finish the match. Buster lifts Corey up for a powerbomb but Sanders keeps the hold on tight. Bradley picks his opponent back up and drives him back down but still the choke is kept on. Buster tries once more, this time lifting Sanders up as high as he can before powerboming him once more.

Sanders finally lets go and both men lay on the mat. Buster gasps for air while Corey tries to recover the slams. The official begins to count when neither man stirs.

Sanders waits until Bradley is back up to come in and hit his opponent with a series of quick punches that pushes Buster back against the ropes. Once there Corey delivers a huge kick that drops Buster over the ropes. Sanders tries to follow but the ref orders him to wait then begins to count.

Corey picks Bradley up once more and then flings him into the corner, rushing in the hit a corner clothesline. Next Sanders begins to launch a flurry of punches and kicks, ending in an Alpha 7 super kick.

Buster only stays standing because of the ropes and slumps in the corner. Corey lifts the bigger man up onto his shoulder and puts him on the top turnbuckle, standing on the second turnbuckle and launches more punches.

Match Two – Single’s Match
Tiami Erickson vs. Hachirou Eto

Posted Image

(Referee: Corey Miner)

Hachiro Eto and Tiami Erickson state daggers into one another as they wait for the bell to ring. As soon as it does Tiami rushes at the larger man as if she intends to rush right into him. Hachiro sets himself and prepares to grab hold of his opponent when Erickson surprises him by dropping down and sliding between his legs. The ref headed Devil spins and kicks hard into both knees, dropping Eto to the mat. Ti then quickly gets back to her feet and hits the ropes, leaping up to perform a dropkick into the face of Hachiro as he is trying to stand.

Tiami lets Eto get to his feet before launching a hard kick to his stomach. Hachiro simply glares at his foe and slaps his defined abs, challenging her to kick him again. Tiami does and lands it with a loud thud heard throughout the arena. Eto again slaps his rock hard stomach and waves her to try again. Erickson comes in for a third kick but before she hits she suddenly changes angles to slam her foot across Eto’s jaw line. Hachiro staggers back but doesn’t fall.

Tiami runs to hit the ropes and rebounds to rush back at her foe. Hachiro surprises Tiami with a sudden burst of speed he springs forward and drops Erickson with a massive clothesline. Eto walks over to his opponent and kicks her hard in the side, forcing Tiami to roll over. Eto then places a massive foot on her back and steps over causing Erickson to cry out in pain. The crowd boos at the showing but this only encourages Hachiro to do it again, this time standing on one leg and flexing his muscles as he puts his weight down on the helpless devil.

Finally Eto steps off and then picks Ti up by the hair, dragging her around the ring. Erickson flails and trys to escape but the grip of Hachiro is to strong and he continues to pull his opponent around. Only the refs count of four stops Tiami’s torture.

Eto then turns and flattens Erickson with another big shot. He lifts her up again only to drop her once more. Eto then flings Tiami into the ropes and pops her up for his finishing slam. As Tiami comes down however she adjusts her trajectory and kicks her legs out. The huge dropkick drives Eto into the corner where Tiami charges in to hit Eto with the shining wizard. Erickson then climbs the ropes and dives off to land an elbow drop on the prone Hachiro.

Tiami gets back up and lifts Eto up into a reverse DDT position. Before she can finish him off, however, Marcus Levine walks out onto the ramp, catching her attention. Ti looks to the smug Levine and then points to Hachiro then back to Marcus.

The distraction was short but all Eto needed. He spins out of the position and grabs Tiami’s hand, pulling her into a short arm clothesline. Hachiro picks his opponent back up only to fling her into the ropes and again pop her up, this time finishing the devastating slam before going for the pin.

–HACHIROU ETO—

Eto stands in victory and prepares to leave only to be stopped by Levine, who points to Tiami and nods. Eto turns and picks her back up, popping her up once more to drive her down again. Levine shakes his head and Hachiro once more picks Erickson up to hit her with another powerful slam.

The official continues calling for the bell but Marcus and Hachiro don’t seem to care. Levine points to the floor outside the ring. Eto lifts Tiami up over his head and throws her outside the ring like a pile of laundry. Hachiro and Marcus then walk together and exit the ring, leaving Tiami in a heap on the ground.

Match Three – Single’s Match
Lucilla vs. James Calhoun
Posted Image
(Referee: Claudia Morello)

It’s clobberin’ time! James Calhoun and Lucilla return to the ring as the latter seeks to defend her family name against the man who has targeted her sister, General Manager Lara Pegorino. As the bell rings, Lucilla immediately starts kicking away at Calhoun’s quads, but the cowboy seems mostly unfazed as he seems to shrug off the kicks and reverses with an Irish Whip into the corner. Lucilla lands hard back-first, and Calhoun comes running in with a vicious clothesline. However Lucilla ducks and Calhoun hits the turnbuckles chest-first, bouncing off of them. Lucilla rolls him up from behind!

ONE!

TWO!!

Th- Calhoun kicks out! He immediately gets back on his feet, as does Lucilla but this time Calhoun’s clothesline does connect, hitting her with such devastating impact it turns her inside out. Calhoun grabs her by the hair and lifts her up to his shoulders, nailing her with a running powerslam. He continues to stomp away at Lucilla before he hits running legdrop. He goes for another cover!

ONE!

TWO!!

Lucilla kicks out. He once again grabs Lucilla’s hair, and Irish Whips her again, but Lucilla runs up the turnbuckles and hits Calhoun with a Whisper in the Wind! Calhoun gets back on his feet almost instantaneously though, but Lucilla levels him with a dropsault that sends him against the ropes and Lucilla immediately clothesline him to the outside!
Wasting no time, Lucilla goes to the top rope, waiting the right time to strike. As soon as Calhoun is within range, she moonsaults off of the top turnbuckle! She hits Calhoun… But he snatches her out of the air! With Lucilla on his shoulder, he charges at the ringside barricade, and bulldozes Lucilla right through it! The crowd gasps, as both competitors are down! The referee starts the count…

ONE…
TWO…
THREE…
Calhoun starts to move, but Lucilla is still down.
FOUR…
FIVE…
Calhoun is up this his knees.
SIX…
SEVEN…
Calhoun is up to his feet, and starts to move towards the ring!
EIGHT…
Calhoun takes a step, but is suddenly stopped as Lucilla clutches his nearest leg! Slightly panicked, Calhoun starts hammering away at her face, …
NINE…
Lucilla is forced to release and Calhoun rushes at the ring.
TEN!
Too late! The bell rings, and Calhoun steps before sliding in the ring, realizing what just happened and he turns around again, fully well realizing what Lucilla just did. The Sicilian babe rises back to her feet, smiling at Calhoun who is none too pleased.

DOUBLE COUNT-OUT

He turns around , focusing his attention back on Lucilla, and snarls, charging at her. But she reverses it into a scoopslam onto the nearest chair, which is luckily left unoccupied. Calhoun crashes through it, but Lucilla immediately mounts him and starts throwing punches as it turns into a full-out brawl! Calhoun and Lucilla go at it throughout the entire ringside area until the security tries to break them up… and fails!

More crew rushes out to ringside to break them up, fearing the safety of the surrounding fans, and eventually it takes nearly a dozen guards apiece to get them to split.

Main Event – Single’s Match
Samuel Kelly vs. Karma Tenzin

Posted Image

(Referee: Chuck Aitken)

Sam Kelly has a massive opportunity tonight, and it seems like he’s more than eager to take it. As the bell rings he jumps right out of the gate, but Karma is on high alert. He ducks and dodges any punch Sam tries to throw at him and when the younger Kelly goes for a grapple, he quickly reverses it into a headlock and grinds Sam down to a halt, taking any kind of momentum or speed out of his offense.

Sam tries to wrestle free by unleashing a flurry of elbow strikes and closed fist punches on Tenzin’s gut, forcing the release of even the Buddhist’s renowned iron grip. He shoves Tenzin into the ropes by the Bhutanese Beast ducks underneath the ensuing clothesline and immediately locks him into an abdominal stretch from behind, once again slowing him down to a crawl.

Trying to wriggle free but largely unsuccessful, Tenzin applies lots of pressure to Kelly’s abdominal area, and it’s not until Sam manages to get a foot free that he can get enough leverage to escape. Kelly seems frustrated at not being able to get any offense in. He rolls out of the ring, but Tenzin is in pursuit. Kelly rounds the cornerpost with Tenzin on his tail, slides back in the ring and runs the ropes as Tenzin slides back in too. Sam tries to go for a big boot on Tenzin but the Buddhist ducks and rolls through, grabbing Kelly’s tights in the mean time and rolling him up into a pin!

ONE!

TWO!!

Sam kicks out! He seems furious, and as they both get up, he unleashes one strike that Tenzin could never possibly block! Low Blow, right in plain sight of the referee! Chuck Aitken has no choice but to call for the bell under the crowd’s boos!

WINNER, BY DQ at 03:05
–KARMA TENZIN–

As Tenzin crumples to the mat, Kelly grins. He grabs Tenzin by the scruff of the neck and dumps him over the top rope to the outside, before whipping him into the announce table. The Bhutanese Beast is still clutching his groin as Sam slams his head into the table over and over and over. As Kelly then goes to grab a chair, Motörhead’s “March Ör Die” starts to play. The Armenian Beast rushes out to help his beastly comrade despite what appeared to be a few differences in opinion in recent weeks. He rushes down the ramp and runs around the ring, looking to hit Kelly with running axe handle, but Kelly hops the barricade and flees! Still, he leaves with a grin on his face as the show comes to a close. He may not have won tonight, but he definitely leaves as the moral victor, with the Canadian Champion staring him down.
