Official response to challenge outed by Ronnie Cage

News & Rumors

On May 2nd, Ronnie Cage officially challenged James Calhoun to an Ultimate Wrestling Championship Match for Exodus. The Callous Cowboy, currently under heavy scrutiny after claims of faking sobriety, dared Ronnie Cage to have the match next week at Over the Top XV. We sought out Lise Fortier for an official statement, and this is what UWE’s CEO had to say.

“Quite frankly, I don’t care what Mr. Calhoun wants. Regardless of Mr. Cage’s feelings on the matter, James Calhoun will NOT be competing for any kind of championship gold until he has formally apologized to me. I will not allow him to hijack our show. OTT XV will not feature a championship match, and that is that.”

It looks like James Calhoun will have to wait a while longer then, if he wants a shot at Ronnie Cage. His entire future will be decided at OTT XVI, it seems. Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops!

LEAKED: Footage of Meeting Between GM and Owner!!

Hot Topics, News & Rumors

After OTT XIV aired, footage was sent in of a meeting between Lise Fortier and Lara Pegorino, where they discussed many UWE-related things. It seems to have come from Lise’s Real Housewives camera crew, and shot without Ms. Pegorino’s permission.

Neither has yet been reached for a comment.

You can view the footage here.

Liar Liar Pants on Fire?

News & Rumors

Big news has come in the form of leaked photos of UWE star James Calhoun. Don’t worry, the pictures aren’t sexual in nature, but are still very disapointing.

When Calhoun returned to Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment several months ago he was telling everyone of his battle with alcoholism. It turns out, however, that this could just be another stunt in the long list of things James Calhoun has done to get attention.

The photos show Calhoun drinking a beer at a backyard barbecue and Karl Bannon, director of a documentary aimed at showing Calhoun’s return to UWE, has admitted that the entire project was a ruse aimed at making money and selling Calhoun as a kind of “tragic hero figure.”

Calhoun himself has not yet made any comments and the UWE has only stated their intentions to investigate the matter.

Missing Genesis?

News & Rumors

UWE Superstar OUT of Genesis

The Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment staff has just learned that after thorough medical examination, UWE SUperstar Ruby will not be medically cleared to compete at Genesis on April 16th. One of UWE’s chief medical doctors has ruled out her appearance on the show, claiming that “due to the nature of her injury, it would pose a severe and real threat to her long-term health.” Ruby was scheduled to face Lucilla in a Marry Me! Match, which now seems to be off the cards.

What this means going forward for UWE’s tiny Canadian, is anyone’s guess. Over the Top General Manager Lara Pegorino said that there is ‘no final decision made regarding the outcome of this match’. As we all know Ruby would be legally forced to marry Lucilla in case of a Genesis loss. We’ll have more on this story as it develops.

PETA Problems?

News & Rumors

UWE Facing PETA Boycott

Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment is closing in on its first pay-per-view since the company’s return to the spotlight. A successful showing would go a long way to putting the wrestling company, once the industry leader, back on track towards the number one spot again.

There is opposition to the event, however. Most notably directed at the highly publicised match between Wulf Erikson and James Calhoun, which will feature a python suspended above the ring.

The match has caught the eye and ire of PETA.

Jeff Scott, senior vice president of public relations for the animal rights group, had this to say:

“Sports in general have a long history of exploiting animals for entertainment puposes. The so called ‘ultimate’ Wrestling Entertainment continues this tradition by hanging a live snake dangerously above the ring. If the people at UWE will not call this match off then we at PETA are calling on animal lovers everywhere to boycott this show.”

Recently named general manager, Lara Pegorino, could not be reached for comment. Lise Fortier, however, indicated that she has every intent to continue with the match as planned.
